Excellent Drawings for my 5 Cats
We were introduced by our local Iran local guide to visit this shop. We were amazed by their miniature drawings and have decided to order drawings of our 5 cats. We have limited staying time in Ishafan and the owner (and his family) was able to complete all 3 drawings within a day. After we left Isfahan, we decided to order another one for our 5th cat ((who has passed away to Rainbow Bridge already). The owner himself finished it in a day and drove to deliver it on hand while we were on the way to other city. Very good customer service and very beautiful drawings . Will recommend to all tourists to visit, and you won't regret to get at least one back home. Best Regards Steven

The work here is of the highest quality so if you want a beautiful memento of your visit to Iran then look no further. It's not cheap but then great quality never is.

Ga je voor kwaliteit en wil je een miniatuur meenemen? Dan is dit de plek om te gaan. Internationale allure van vader op zoon op kleinzoon. En je krijgt nog een demonstratie miniaturen schilderen ook in de winkel. Vraag goed wie de miniatuur gemaakt heeft (vaak te onderscheiden aan de handtekening) want er zijn ook leerlingen die miniaturen maken.
Zauberhafte Kleinodien mitten in Isfahan.
Unsere Reiseleiterin Zoreh zeigt uns während unserer Besichtigung diesen wunderbaren Laden und wir konnten selbst die Entstehung eines kleinen Kunstwerks beobachten. Der Laden bietet eine nicht enden wollende Fülle von erstaunlichen Miniaturen. Natürlich konnte ich nicht widerstehen eines der Kunstwerke mit nach Hause zunehmen. Die kunsthandwerkliche Fertigkeit der Künstler ist wirklich sehenswert. Ein Muss, wenn man Isfahan besucht!

On ne sait que choisir ! Tout est remarquable. L'accueil, les oeuvres, les nougat On peut marchander mais dans la limite de la décence car le travail accompli n'a pas de prix.
Beste miniaturist
Ik heb veel miniatuur schilders gezien in Iran, maar de heer Fotowat is echt een kunstenaar. Hij legt heel duidelijk uit hoe miniaturen worden geschilderd, wat het verschil is tussen de ene miniatuur en de andere (goedkopere). Er is voor elk wat wils, van weinig geld tot het topstuk van $ 14.000 waar je speciaal naar moet vragen (miniatuur geschilderd door zijn vader). Zijn eigen miniaturen zijn schitterend mooi geschilderd, ook vaak wat anders dan de standaard taferelen van een "polowedstrijd op het Naghshe Jahan plein" op wat moet doorgaan voor "kamelenbot" maar gewoon plastic is. Uiteraard zijn de prijzen er ook naar, maar dan heb je ook echt een topstuk als je iets van zijn hand koopt. Betalen met creditcard is mogelijk al kost dit 10-15% meer. Een aanrader! Je voelt je ook nooit verplicht iets te kopen.

Fotowat Miniaturist shop
It’s a unique opportunity to view a great miniaturist at work painting on camel bone right there and then. Amazed by the stunning art works and beautiful Persian Miniatures, all done by hand. Located next to the Imam square on a side street. Worth visiting!
dream or reality
When you enter this small shop-office next to one of the bazar alleys, you enter a different world. Silence, art, a cup of tea and the opportunity to see Mr Fotowat Sr drawing. The walls are covered in beautiful miniatures and drawings, and you can speak either English or French. There is a miniature for each person, each price!
Beautiful shop and totally charming artist
We were keen to see Persian miniatures and this gallery was recommended. It was completely unexpected that the charming owner would talk us through the whole process and then paint a tiny picture on camel bone for us to see. Despite fact shopping was not on our agenda he presented the examples he painted to us. We then thoroughly explored the display on both floors and could not help buying. Whilst the pictures might cost much more than the usual souvenirs they are extremely good value in themselves for the beauty and workmanship. Bear in mind that Iran is a cheap place to travel so you will easily justify buying a miniature here as you will not spend much money generally so will have lots left over! Accepts cards, rials , Euros, dollars and sterling too. Lovely shop and I will treasure my picture as well as regretting the one I did not buy. Has good website and can always buy on line!
Impossible de resister à ce joli travail
Jolie boutique de miniatures, ou Ms Fotowat parlent très bien Français. Ils proposent de jolis tableaux peints sur de l'os de chameaux, des boites et des gravures anciennes tirées de livres. Ils prennent la carte bleue et acceptent des Euros. Le travail est d'une finesse extreme. Les prix sont raisonnables. Nous avons choisis 2 gravures que nous encadrerons. Nous recommandons vivement cette boutique tenue par des hommes charmants.
Beeindruckendes Handwerk
Wir fragten unseren Reiseführer nach dem renommiertesten Künstler der Miniaturmalerei und landeten bei Fotowat. Absolut beeindruckende Handwerkskunst die wir so noch nirgendwo sonst angetroffen haben. Die Auswahl im oberen Stock ist absolut sehenswert. Fragen sie nach den Meisterwerken, sie werden es nicht bereuen. Wir jedenfalls sind glücklich die Gelegenheit beim Schopf gepackt und ein tolles Bild erworben zu haben. Zwar hat die Kunst ihren Preis doch wird dieser durch die tägliche Freude am Bild mehr als aufgewogen. Wirklich eine einmalige Erfahrung und ein Höhepunkt jeder Iranreise!
